World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will increase 3% of its previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will be obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.
It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes more quickly.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can increase in price even if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of a unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade item s allows players to increase the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. Home is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost that are listed above.
